A lot of dudes are attracted to ancient Stoic philosophy because they think it will teach them how to be some kind of manly badass. Which is actually 100% true because there is nothing more badass than being a virtuous person who performs their civic duties without complaint.

Agreed. One of the greatest pieces of philosophy is Meditations by Marcus Aurelius, Stoic extraordinaire and one of the few good Roman Emperors. Should be mandatory reading.
