Wow so I guess conservatives are really going with "the TRUE lesson of the Holocaust is to shut up about it when minorities are thrown into camps next time". Okay then...I guess that's where we are at.

A couple years ago Israel had an influx of African refugees entering the country illegally. So we built a concentration camp for them and deported those we could. We also have a ton of illegal immigrants from Eastern Europe but they don't get put in a camp, guess why.

So if Israel, a country founded as a safe harbour for refugees from concentration (& death, obvs.) camps, can do this shit... Honestly, I wish you guys could do better. But I've lost all faith in Never Again meaning anything except Never Again Shall It Happen *To Us*.

All it's take is one Canadian to be thrown into the camps for people to realize, wait a second maybe these "unpeoples" are humans too. And even that is doubtful.

Interesting, but could you please check your calculations? I get the following: Mexico: 2.12% El Salvador: 2.21% Guatemala: 7.87% India: 0.14% Honduras: 7.22% Philippines: (missing data) China: 0.27% Korea: (missing data) Vietnam: (missing data) Dominican Republic: 0.98%

Note in particular the discrepancy with your value for El Salvador, and the rows of missing data. Also, wouldn't it be more correct to use removal values from FY2017, instead of FY2018? Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Obviously the whole situation is garbage, but I wouldn’t rule out that it just costs less to deport to Mexico than it does to deport to India.

Not sure exactly what types of deportations are included in "removals by country," but if it includes rejected asylum seekers, the fact that those immigrants voluntarily participate in the immigration courts and don't try to hide probably makes it easier to deport them.

Am confused where the red percentages are coming from. 128765/6640000 = 1.94% not 2.something% ?
-
Ah, scratch that, source seems to be dividing the 2018 deportation numbers by the 2017 illegal immigration numbers. Though I don’t expect that that error should change the results much, and so conclusions still probably the same.
