I agree with all of the above, but I would add the following to Theatre: to see the world through another’s eyes and walk in another’s shoes, thereby developing empathy and compassion. We may need theatre now more than ever before. And yes, costumes and comedy are a bonus.
Why people do: Science: to look for the truth. Philosophy: to understand the world. Literature: to express why we live. Theatre: I mean...mostly to dress up in cool costumes, let's be honest.
