Saying that we need to unite behind literally any Democrat no matter what their ideas are isn't how to beat Trump, it's how we got Trump in the first place.

Really? Uniting behind a D is how we got Trump? I missed that part. This isn't theory. Absent a Trumpist coup (which is certainly possible), there WILL be an election next November and it WILL operate under the obscene electoral college rules that will not allow a 3rd party win.
