He got elevated in the media because he can do stats but has no meaningful understanding of politics beyond electability snapshots, which makes him a very useful idiot for pushing a status quo oriented narrative that appears legitimate.

I think you put this better than I really could have. Maybe add that once he got a taste of the big time, surrounded by these folks, he suddenly also had a big vested interest in staying there.

This is such an excellent case study of how someone acquires a credential or credibility for a limited domain & it then puts a false sheen on all their other garbage opinions. Of course, humanity might not live to use this information for future epochs! But don't trust Data!
