I have always thought this. To me it is a good example to use in favor of virtue ethics. Some students say "why should I listen to whatever Aristotle thinks is good?" Well you don't have to, but he is actually giving concrete moral advice, which Sartre or Kant or Mill fail to do.

One can't live with Aristotle's version of ethics. That metaphysical BS belongs to that bunch of ancient narcissists. Even Epicurus' take was better. Kant's version was somewhat on point -at least "morally", as to not behave ethically just to be overcome with felicity, etc.

Existential therapy is like this. Well, nearly the same, it's a more expensive variation on this and you only have fifty minutes to rant your spleen.

When Sartre said "Man is condemned to be free" that's exactly what he meant! What to do now!

One of your rare misfires. For demanding an answer to an unanswerable question - by which, of course, the student attempts to evade his own responsibility to answer - the student is the butt of the story.

I was just reading this passage from "At the existential cafe". Every human out there should have this book. (and not just possess, but actually read it!)
