It's less than you'd think. Only my immediate surroundings are simulated at high-resolution, you see. You are computationally inexpensive set dressing (sorry!).

It's "obviously not" only if your concept of computation is limited to PCs, iPhones, and other modern humam-made technology. The academic concept is broader and includes several models besides Turing machines.
