Capitalism began in England around the 16th century. They immediately went on to colonize half the planet in search of new markets, committed multiple genocides, traded slaves, and engaged in constant war. In school we learn about how communism is evil because of a famine.

Don't mention the fact that the combined famines during the British Raj have a higher kill count alone and during that time an entire corporation owned India for half of that time

Even Stalin's gulag apparatus was smaller (and didn't last as long) as the modern US prison system. It wasn't capitalism itself that was evil. The evil was the greed of man

Capitalism is based on, and idealizes, the greed of man.

Capitalism started 150,000 years ago when tribes of Homo sapiens began specializing in making goods and services to trade with other tribes.

This is not capitalism. Unless by capitalism you just mean trade in which case every society has been capitalist which any historian worth their salt would say was so flawed as an analysis it isn’t worth consideration

plenty of famines under capitalism, Irish potato famine, famines under the Raj in India, famines forced on indigenous people in North America, etc people look to history for examples to buttress a case they've already made in their minds
