It's hilarious how many people think neuroscientists having something to say about "free will". Wow, neuroscientists think the brain might have deterministic properties? Guess what, the brain is made of atoms, which are deterministic, so what could those brain nerds possibly add?

I'm pretty sure atoms are not deterministic
however I'm also not an advocate for quantum effects to be responsible for free will. In any case, even complex enough classical systems appear effectively non deterministic. Sorry the physics sidetracking -

Emergence is the property of a system NOT explained by summation of the parts of that system, particularly in complex & complex systems. Consciousness is considered an emergent property of the brain.
