You can dream up any ethical theory you like, but if you find yourself consistently taking the side of the powerful against the oppressed, I don't really give a shit about your theory.

Powerful is the one who can make you do what you don’t want to do, and derive no consequence or recompense to you for it. If you’re never in a position where the powerful’s deeds affect you it’s not bad for you, but unchecked power is bound to affect you sooner or later.
