Technocratic liberals make the mistake of thinking politics boils down to "policy", and all we need is smart people writing them. But politics is also fighting racism, standing in solidarity with unions, and accepting people for who they are. Society is more than policies.

Well I think all of those can fall into policy, when policy is written to do those things. The more significant thing is that most of the wonks and people in power don’t see policy outside of neoliberal capitalism, which will ignore or work against those things
