Realized this when I was like 18 and at this point I've just fully embraced it. Free will is an illusion. If we knew all the variables our lives could be calculated perfectly.

But time travel doesn't prove determinism? It's only determinism if the same shit happens again, but that's not what happens. Timetravel only proves that what happened the first time is what happened the first time.

This reminds me of the malicious nihilism of the Earth-2 Owlman from the animated adaptation of the Grant Morrison Justice League run. He tries to basically destroy the multi-verse based on the same sentiment because "Its the only thing I can ever do that matters"
