Question: what should the (non-anarchist) left think about intellectual property ownership? On one hand intellectual property is a very strange form of property that can easily be misused, but on the other isn't it the product of inventors' and creators' labour?

The problem with intellectual property ownership law now is that ownership often belongs to whoever was paying the creator a salary at the time, and not to the creator. The creator often gets barely a fraction of what the IP brings in.

No, they get it by exploiting people's labour, or theft, same same.

The CEOs get stock options as compensation, they use stock buybacks, squeeze wages, force cost cutting on suppliers, etc to increase profits to inflate their stock prices to become billionaires.

Why are they so opposed to high income taxes if that is the case?

Basically correct. Jeff Bezos' salary is roughly $81k. Other compensation, $1.6 million. Go ahead, TRIPLE his income taxes. Almost all his wealth is his founders stock in Amazon - unrealized, and hence untaxed capital gains. If sold, rate is currently 20%. https://www1.salary.com/Jeffrey-P-Bezos-Salary-Bonus-Stock-Options-for-Amazon-Com-Inc.html …pic.twitter.com/nG6yKim9Fn

The Top Ten in the Forbes 400 are rich on founders stock. Caveat: The Koch brothers inherited a small successful firm from dad in 1967 but I'm scoring that as self-made-ish. Walton heirs hit the list at 11, 12 (tie). https://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/#324125c77e2f …pic.twitter.com/VE2MmqDcS5
