Now you have. I have been in a poly relationship for a few years. We're all really good, we talk openly about stuff most of the time, and now we're buying a house together.

I’m suspicious of polyamory because why would 2 people like me enough at the same time and also be cool enough to want to be in a relationship all together. I know who I am. It sounds like a set up for bank fraud.

Yo can we not stigmatize poly ppl

I feel like the original tweet was so silly that it almost seemed to side against traditional monogamy

good polyamory isnt collecting loads of partners, its "oh we both rly like that person... wanna be 3 instead of 2?" which is different & much less likely to burst into flames if used in conjunction with common sense

Its a numbers game. If half of 2 person marriages fail, then in a 3 person relationship you have 3 sets of partners that each have a 50% success rate, so the group as a whole will make it 1 time in 8. More people just stacks the deck towards collapse.

well, no, it's not that at all. clearly, there are differences in both the substance of monogamous and polyamorous relationships and the people who engage in them. there are complex factors and differences at play, and this kind of reductionism won't capture that.
