Now you have. I have been in a poly relationship for a few years. We're all really good, we talk openly about stuff most of the time, and now we're buying a house together.
I'm suspicious of polyamory because a good relationship is like a conspiracy to assassinate the president. You must trust in your fellow conspirators completely, so you have to keep the group as small as possible.

good polyamory isnt collecting loads of partners, its "oh we both rly like that person... wanna be 3 instead of 2?" which is different & much less likely to burst into flames if used in conjunction with common sense

Its a numbers game. If half of 2 person marriages fail, then in a 3 person relationship you have 3 sets of partners that each have a 50% success rate, so the group as a whole will make it 1 time in 8. More people just stacks the deck towards collapse.

well, no, it's not that at all. clearly, there are differences in both the substance of monogamous and polyamorous relationships and the people who engage in them. there are complex factors and differences at play, and this kind of reductionism won't capture that.
