Utilitarianism is hilarious because all you have to do to refute it is describe what the world would be like if we pretended to believe it in the slightest, and everyone is immediately horrified.

Tyranny of the majority aside, I think the fundamental flaw is that we somehow quantify happiness. I tend to think socialism is compatable because material happiness for the individual has diminishing returns.
