Agreed. The academic science environment is ripe for organization. Unfortunately the BS establishment makes it that all the workers are competing against each other for the carrot at the end of the stick they beat us with.

I agree with that and also that you shouldn't volunteer or work for free for experience or connections or whatever. But this way of thinking is bourgeois. You marxists accept capitalism's principles in your critique of it.

We're not exempt from capitalism just because we disagree with it. Gotta make the best of things within the system while also wishing to (or working to) change said system.

I guy I worked with in my previous life in the corporate 9-5 who is now retired always said if you can't get the job done in the hours you're paid to do it - then there s a problem with management - there will always be more work - work hard but smart.
