or at least drastically reduce cattle farming. I dream of the day all the worst fast-food burger chains (McDonalds etc) become a thing of the past, abandoned by customers in favor of real food.

That will happen when certain governments start subsidizing veggies instead of meat & there are healthy $1 meal options to compete w/McDonald's $1-2-3 menu Lots of it is choice but plenty is financial desperation

was a vegetarian for years. Hate eating meat. diagnosed w lupus. Had to give up gluten. diagnosed w severe iron def anemia. Had to implement some red meat (+ high dose iron supplements) don’t like it, but it’s what it is. Expecting all bodies to work the same diet is unrealistic

Iron is found in many plant based things. Tis totally possible to be anemic nd vegan. If you consume vitamin c along with iron the absorption rate multiplies by 5. Sounds to me like u just got guided by a conservative doctor under the misconception that we only get iron from meatpic.twitter.com/IMXaKqoNVl

Lots of crying in the comments about "muh beef" but nothing at all being said about the October 2018 report published in Nature that this tweet is clearly referencing. Here is a Guardian piece about this report: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/oct/10/huge-reduction-in-meat-eating-essential-to-avoid-climate-breakdown …
