it always has been though. we have never existed independently of nature's resources. humans have to eat, shit & live somewhere. the problem is the scales have tipped to such an incredibly imbalanced degree due to obsession with money, materialism & disregard for sustainability.

No, because capitalists do not provide useful labour. They control our ability to work and live, and benefit from the surplus value (profit) that our labour provides. That is why capitalists are not just exploitative, but parasitic.
