The fact that the word "postmodernism" has become almost totally meaningless because it is attached to an almost infinite number of different things is probably the best burn on postmodernism that could have happened.

It's not meaningless. Lyotard well defined it as the strain of Modernism particularly eschewing linearity or rigid aesthetic forms. McHale well defined it as Modernity when interrogation of epistemology also becomes interrogation of ontology. Both definitions are still well used.

Ontologies are best approached with an open heart, not skepticism. This is why I abandoned pomo thinking and embraced vipassana.
