I read all of Atlas Shrugged and I want some credit for that. It's over 1300 pages, you know. Small font and dense paragraphs.

Actually for plays- for the Tonys there is no award that the playwright automatically gets to accept. Best play is often a producer accepting. The Oscar have a best screenplay but the Tonys have no, best script.

That's messed up. Plays seem much harder than movies to write. Movies can use space and robots and underwater stunts, but plays can only take place inside some guy's Victorian drawing room.

Idk Musical/Play/Opera directors [and artistic designers] get a fair amount of attention if the writer's dead or it's oft-performed. And with classical musicians, although performers DO get a lot of credit, the CDs are still sorted by composer in-store and online.

That's part of why I like The Archers body of work. The credits on those films are Written, Produced, and Directed by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. That and they made some classic films.

For movies, I would rather have good writing and casting than some "great" director.
