Sure, it’s a hellish system, but how special is our labor, really? It’s not like it’s sacred or something. What else are we gonna do with our bodies while waiting to die? Also, you gotta make a living SOMEhow. A good way to do that, I’ve found, is via labor.

When I'm talking to people in meatspace about it, I tend to call them the owner class, the landed gentry, or just capitalists (as distinct from working people).

What keeps me from scraping bottom in this olympic-size pool of despair in which we flounder is the fact that it's all held together with words; it can, arguably, be deconstructed the same way. Let's keep at it! "A rebel does not require hope" - Camuspic.twitter.com/wPK0LkVDh3

In German, a worker is called an “arbeitnehmer”- lit. Somone who takes work, while their boss is an “arbeitgeber”- somone who gives work. It should be the reverse.

I work in Berkshire County full-time building the houses in mansions and vacation homes for these super wealthy owning class people. They never have to work and I work full-time and I cannot afford a house of my own. It is really a wage slavery situation.

Tom Sawyer economics on steroids. When being rich is the destination, the epitome, of life i.e. the "pursuit of happiness," you can be taken down a dark and lonely path. To understand one's value subjectively is to be able to take risks in order to live a purposeful life...

...and TBH, I don't think I'm there yet. To have a family and long for their well being can also be a way to get sucked in to this capitalist rat race. Sometimes we need more than the value we see in ourselves, but we mustn't let the material/external determine our contentment.
