The Freedom Monster precisely describes what a corporation is.

And family in societies without high inheritance taxes.

I remember hearing somewhere that wealth typically doesn’t last 2 generations. Any truth to this?
-
Nope. There is some conflicting research results, but here's one very long-standing study. https://philadelphiafed.org/-/media/research-and-data/events/2014/macroeconomics-across-time-and-space/papers/clark.pdf …

For this to work the immortal freedom monster would have to be granted the rights of a "person", and surely we would never be that stupid?

Excellent! Nozick's "utility monster" canard is obviously flawed, though. Utilitarianism calls for the greatest good for the greatest number. Why he felt it valid to conflate the highly subjective notion of "happiness" with utility is baffling.
-
and how exactly do you measure greater good for one person vs lesser good for two? :D
-
Utility can be estimated through any number of objective criteria, starting with the base of the hierarchy (i.e., does everyone have their basic survival needs met) and working upward. Happiness is an individually subjective idea that can't readily be evaluated on the aggregate.
-
You don't answer my question, though. Who cares about the measurements when your comparisons are arbitrary?
-
Your question was in fact answered.
-
Nope. Whatever "objective criteria" of utility you've got, there was no explanation given of how should you compare one man getting greater utility vs lesser utility for two.
-
Not really interested in this pedantry. Carry on.

One in the eye there for people who claim that representing concepts in comic-strip form makes them easy to understand.
