Chefs butcher, fry, sear, chop, and so on. Cooking is destructive. Bakers raise their products from nothingness by nurturing a living thing. Baking is constructive.
Chefs are all assholes and bakers are all nice. What's the connection?

*I worked in several kitchens* You cannot rush rush whilst baking. The process is set, so you must manage your time well and be patient. Also chefs wield knives. Methinks that makes them more assertive.
