the mail delivery service probably doesn't want to deal with a someone signing a legal document while intoxicated...that wouldn't hold up in court.

I've always been suprised by how authoritarian America is about drinking, smoking, porn, different political opinions etc. It seems to only be "free" in the way most countries are.
