It's weird when people thank the military for their brave service to the country. What does killing people in the Middle East accomplish for the country? Thank the people who run the power lines, it is just as dangerous, and I like having electricity.

But this is explicitly what the military has been doing for at least 17 years. Anyone that enlisted in that time had a pretty good idea what the military was up to.
