Anyone who thinks that getting rid of capitalism will get rid sexism and racism need to take a hard look at the horribly toxic cultures in the open source software communities.

Giving control of production to the people, workers, or public will not make those people good. The "evil capitalists" are not the only ones with agency in the world. Everything isn't a plot to divide the workers, workers are perfectly capable of being horrible on their own.

HR has stronger standards because companies can be sued. Under open-source, there is no one to be sued. Thus, you have to rely on the community of volunteers to enact and enforce their own standards. That is probably not going so well.

That's not what code of conducts are about. They are mostly a marker for "this is SJW territory", placing people under general suspicion of being sexist racists. That angers people.
