When centrists say that we need to move to the center to win elections, the one thing that they don't understand is that literally everyone hates centrists. People want what they want, not to just do nothing and carry on with a clearly broken system.

They also don't mean moving toward the centre either; it always, always means compromising with the right, & moving right. After decades of drifting rightward, moving toward the centre should mean going left.

Yeah, let’s all just forever work within the guidelines of a broken system instead of taking the slightest effort to replace or fix it. Thank goodness for pragmatic centrists!

The actual center of the political spectrum is market socialism. The Overton window has moved so far to the right, that crony corporatist capitalism is the "center". Which is exactly where they want it. I am a mutualist so I would love market socialism.

I specifically remember on a few occasions a history/sociology teacher I had in high school write on the white board: Communism on the left and Fascism on the right and drew an arrow to the middle claiming “this is where you should be”

i think the problem with centrists is that they are neutral to the right and left wing, avoiding all extreme means, but ignorant to the fact that we are living under immense capitalism.

If your brand of centrism calls for keeping things as they are, you're just a conservative who is too scared to endure the criticism that comes with such a label
