Shepherd's - as in sheep - not Shepard's. And who needs food culture? Food's just fuel and people make such a big deal of it.
Italian food culture: "my grandmother taught me how to make the perfect Gnocchi, as her grandmother taught her." English food culture: "yeah so we basically just throw whatever's lying around in here, and call it Shepard's Pie."

Wot! No! Shepherds pie = lamb mince and potatoes. If you're using beef mince its cottage pie. If you just put the potato by the side its "mince n tatties". (If you're using pork mixed with beef mince you're in italy - just make lasagne)
