IQ tests are funny, because they test the small edge cases of what our brains are extremely bad at, so you get massive variations in "intelligence", based largely on pointless puzzles that evolution never made us good at precisely because they are pointless.
Probably the most ironic thing about the IQ test is that it requires thousands of times more intelligence to understand what the questions are asking than it does to answer them. But because our brains are so poorly optimized for anagrams and stuff, we struggle on the easy part.
It measures how quick a person adapts its mind to something it is not used to. It involves both understanding the question and come up with an answer, i do not see any problem with that...

IQ tests measure your comprehension level which is about the right way to test your intelligence, IMO. If IQ tests require 1000 times more intelligence to understand the question then to answer it, it’s because you first need to understand the question to be able to answer it...
