That’s not what the right wing mean by it. It’s a dog whistle to assign any issue they want to put down as coming from secret communists, claiming that someone is using cultural engineering as a Trojan Horse of communism — an accusation of an opponent of the very thing you do.

Always thought, one of history’s greatest missed opportunities is the antagonism which existed between the Church and Marxism. There’s a reason Marxism has been demonized in America! If the average American reads Marx, he’ll be too well educated to be a capitalist slave. Period
