In the last five years McDonald's has averaged $8 billion in profits per year. Their employees average $8.47 per hour. That's $17,617 per year at full time. They have 235k employees, so if the profits were returned to the employees that number could be raised to $51,659 per year.

We live in a wealthy society, poverty is a creation of the business owners. If anyone is working and poor, it's usually because someone else has a piece of paper that entitles them to steal labor from the workers. No one has to be poor industrialized countries. No one.

When people say we can't afford to raise the minimum wage...no, we can. The parasites who do no labor just need to get a smaller piece of the pie. Preferably zero percent. McDonald's gave $3 billion in dividends last year. What did shareholders do to deserve that money? Nothing.

Right, but that McDonalds and why would the profits return to employees? Most of them don't require any special skills or training, why would that cost more than it's worth? It's actually ridiculous to raise wages for somewhat meaningless work.

Why would it go bankrupt? We're talking *profits* here; money left over after costs and therefore not needed to stop bankruptcy. That money is already leaving the business now.

McDonald's profit avg. for the last 5 years is only $4.95 Billion. 235k employees, only includes people working at company owned stores (18% of total stores). MCD has 1.9 million employees when you includes employees under franchisees. $2605 of profit per employee is produced.pic.twitter.com/Xk3sbT6vFM

To be fair profits are also used to make investments. What should be returned to the employees is the dividends. That's 12,765$ per employee per year.

When I tried the back of the envelope numbers on Amazon recently they came out very similarly.
