tbf, though, foucault is kinda clear. like, way more clear than derrida and deleuze.
Foucault explaining things: Prison: "it's a prison." School: "also a prison." Hospital: "sick person prison." Editors telling you to write clearly: "the greatest prison of them all."

I wonder if the required % of incomprehensibility isn't some kind of splash damage from surrealistic poetry, where the odd combinations of words can trigger attempted processes of comprehension that don't converge on a meaning, but can nevertheless have enjoyable efffects.
