You sound rather jealous & embittered. Why should they ‘give it to the public’, whatever that means? How wealthy do you have to be before you get annoyed by it? Gates has done loads with his money. What have you done with yours?
It's funny how billionaires get praised for giving their money to charity after they die, even though it's just more of the same. They never give it to the public, i.e. let the people choose how they want to use it. They think they should control our labor even after they die.

I barely have enough to provide for my family. Still, I have supported the education of a girl/woman in another country. I also support local charities, when I have some extra money.
