Paranoia over Chinese hackers helped us build the NSA into a complete State surveillance apparatus, but these Russian hackers are much better, so we'll have to build something much more horrifyingly dystopian to stop them.

The Russians at their worst weren’t even really hacking per se, just priming a malicious ignorance that has always been an undercurrent in American politics.

The Russians understood that social engineering is way more effective at national scales than the Chinese. The weak link in any of these is always the human element.

Chinese hackers are more bulky on their approach. Send a bunch of spam, see who they can hook in. Russians are more target specific. Great book on it:pic.twitter.com/YIMfZ6andC
