Remember, whenever Democrats talk about how centrist policies give them a better chance at winning, there is a 99% chance the real reason is that they just want centrist policies. And their corporate donors also sure as well want centrist policies. They don't care about strategy.
"You lost. Get over it." is looking more and more like actual advice for the Dems.
Also, it hasn't worked out very well in decades. So, even if they did mean it, they're just plain wrong, morally AND strategically.
I'd imagine this mostly has to do with the status quo still being in favor of corporations, and that the alternative, a hard veer right, either keeps them in charge or grants them even more power.
I wouldn't say it's a 99% chance they want centrist policies. The percentage who don't give a shit about policy and want to stay in power at all costs must also surely be high.

It is possible that the donors are fine with Republican policies. Keeping centrist Dems in charge of the party blunts any challenge from the left.
