“B-but they created those jobs though!” The demand for the product or service created the demand for the associated labor. Even when the labor is in their face ala restaurants or retail they still give the credit for the successes to the managers/owners.

That's kind of true, but this is mostly a symptom of how weird investing has become. It used to be about funding something and receiving dividends in return. Now it's basically a gambling game where numbers go up and down for no real reason and you choose when to buy and sell.

Stocks no longer truly represent the value generated by workers unless they work in PR, I suppose. The biggest issue with the stock market is that it's no longer about funding growth for up and coming companies, but instead about feeding near monopolies
