It often feels like most people arguing against socialism don't even know the basic definition of it.

did you know the original "monopoly" game had the option to switching over to socialism? it was designed to show how bad capitalism can be and offer a contrast. what happened? capitalism stole the game from its creator and she died penny less. go figure.

As someone in Marketing which is about business and capitalism I recognise the shortfalls of the free market and that regulation is important. Capitalism for business, socialism for society... it's not that difficult or radical to mix the two. Plenty of decent countries do it.

There's no such thing as socialism for just the society. It is an economic system opposed to capitalism

It's weird when communists characterize capitalism as alienating workers from their labor when communism does literally that by not even paying the workers.
