Didn’t the president get a huge amount of credit, basically playing the same role as a CEO? I don’t see the difference?

JFK gave NASA a mandate to land on the moon before the 60s were out, which they did. They also toasted some astronauts. I don’t know that JFK, LBJ, or Nixon really get “Credit” per se, seeing the first was shot, the second embarrassed by Vietnam, and the last resigned.
