That’s funny and relevant but I guess if scientists didn’t like it they could go work for NASA. Then they could follow regulations, take 10x the time it takes Elon and ultimately retire with the exact same credibility.

Except a lot of the early/mid US space program was really the nuclear missile business and trying to impress the Russians with our ability to compete with them in blowing up the world. Even if there were some positive spinoffs from it, like Earth-observing satellites, and Tang.

@elonmusk doesn’t do it for the money, there are far easier and less risky ways to get rich than starting a rocket company and competing with nations.
