Read it. He's literally advocating for Mussolini/Hitler-style violent fascism and bigotry. He is advocating for violence, arresting people who don't align with the new Right Wing 'radicals', and for people to sacrifice themselves for the good of the Nation.
Fucking bananas.

"You can't quit your postdoc. You're on a visa. I control you."
So said a professor (PI) to a recent arrival from India who worked for him.
A new friend from a neighbouring lab provided an office to use for phone & Zoom interviews.
The postdoc got an industry job in 45 days.

My son is sick so his voice is all congested-sounding and he asked me for crepes for breakfast. So I googled a crepe recipe, made a crepe even though I never have before. Put it down in front of him and he was like “these are grapes?” He just wanted some grapes.

27% of Ebola infections are asymptomatic. Got my head bit right off when I pointed that out.
"No proof they transmitted!"
Right. You would think 50% mortality would call for the damn precautionary principle.
I'm doing me with full face N100.
You?

Feels like some docs are really attached to the unscientific invention of “immunity debt from the lockdowns” because of the moral hazard involved with allowing themselves to consider other possibilities. That they won’t even *consider* alternative explanations is telling.

Well, it appears a museum has used one of the ideas I pitched at the interview stage for their programme, without payment or permission, after rejecting me of course. I'm not saying where. What I am doing is challenging that this is just a "sector thing" we have to get over. 1/10

The number of people in the comments replying "just turn the shirt inside-out!" despite the last line of the FIRST TWEET.
Assuming avoiding disenfranchisement or violence is one clever trick away-- that you'd spot-- is real hubris.

Kanye’s team dumped all the “white lives matter” tees on skid row. Not thinking about the consequences of the people that live there wanting a shirt to keep them warm with something that could put them in harms way. There are people with language barriers in that community.

At a scientific meeting, a maskless doc - I am sorry I am without a mask, I just had covid 4 wks ago & hope to be immune.
Also, a masked doc - I closed my clinic as I don't think an exam room now is a good place of practice for a doc who is immunosuppressed transplant recipient.

I had a mystery virus in the early 2000s, that left me with a buffet of post-viral damage that has served itself up ever since.
Doctors (mostly general practitioners) never had any idea what to do about it.

Imagine waking up @ 7:20am to be to work by 8:20am. You only get a half hour for lunch & it’s back to work until 4:00pm. You’re told you HAVE to do more work after you get off that is due in the am that could take anywhere between 1-3hrs.

My conversations with my niece are bringing up a lot of old feelings for me, but also teaching me.
She's having serious lower back pain shooting down as I did around onset; fixed by Bs, so I guess nerve pain?
My inciting event was herniating L4 & L5.
Hers is... definitely not.

My daughter, 32 , was just denied birth control by a Dr in Texas. He said he's not comfortable bc things are changing too fast. She has a 6 month old & an 18 month old. He then lectured her on abstinence, and how not to get into this situation again. She had IVF to have her kids.

The issue with leaving ME out of the discourse can be seen clearly here. We now have medics who know how to diagnose Long Covid but still have no idea about ME as happened here with Jamie’s niece:

My niece is apparently ready for ME/CFS diagnosis; she has PEM.
She told her doctor about her symptoms.
Him: "I have a hypothesis... it's like #LongCOVID but with EBV? I read a thing about LDN and modafinil for this?"

This conversation isn't an example of how "ridiculous" Twitter is, or how unreasonable disabled people are, or how "nonsense" accusations of ableism are.
This conversation is a collision of a multitude of ways we feel devalued and dismissed by people we thought we could rely on.

So anyway, it should be no surprise that this became a thing. It's not ridiculous that it did, because it pulled at volatile social threads: unexamined misogynoir, devalued "feminine/service labor", rugged individualism, unfair labor practices, abandonment of disabled people, etc

I'm tired of the entire cult of RUGGED INDIVIDUALISM that thinks it's reasonable to expect we don't rely on anyone but ourselves, and I'm especially tired of it when it so very obviously conflicts with and harms disabled people. That's one of the reasons we reacted strongly.
