I live on disability and it is not enough to live on 771$ a month. I can't make more than 60$ a month. What is your plan to increase SSI and other benefits? #CripTheVote

People with disabilities deserve financial security. My plan increases SSI to the federal poverty line, revises income limits, and ends rules that force people to choose between critical benefits and financial independence, saving, or marrying the person they love. #CripTheVote

I'll fight to end the loss of SSI benefits for individuals that are admitted to medical facilities or emergency homeless shelters for longer periods of time. I’ll also expand SSI to citizens in territories like Puerto Rico to establish equal rights to SSI for all.

We need to look at the cost of Medicare too! My Medicare premium went up, so the 1.6% raise from SSDI didn’t even cover it! I’m actually getting LESS money per month than last year!

My husband can't even get disability because he has a 'zebra' disease and they keep trying to say he can work from home. The current system is set up to grind you down until you either give up or die. We're on go around two and we've already had another denial. It's so upsetting.

We need to end the barriers where people get denied like this.

I’m sobbing. I got my first job at 15, and worked non-stop for over 30 years. I’ve been denied SSDI benefits twice now, mostly because I couldn’t work enough in the *preceding five years* because of my (invisible, unless it’s a really bad day) illness. Thank you,

This is a common tactic in attempt to wear you out and stop filing. Depending on your state it can take up to three years. You need to contact a lawyer for advice. They will charge only if you win.
