And it's never some scatter-shot, baby-with-the=bathwater plan, either. Her plans are targeted, surgical strikes on the specific cause of the problem.

It's not how marginal he was back then that grates the most for me. It's his steadfast refusal to learn anything about systemic racism since then. He is every white family's smug former-hippie uncle who monopolizes conversation at Thanksgiving, droning on about his glory days.

You are totally correct. The glory days when he got the pat on the back for showing up that one time... while others did the hard work.
