They should’ve seeded content on other platforms. Proved the model and case. They drove an audience to a platform “full of them” later. But instead it was “pay for this thing that you don’t know if you want yet”.

We know that “well produced” short form content works. Creators are making a killing on Facebook. Quibi should’ve acted as a “studio” & funded original content for creators on Facebook and YouTube. Build a UVP that makes their “approach to storytelling in short form” a thing.
