White people always do what’s best for them but black people do not. It’s a crazy thing. I have seen so many low-income black folks get scholarships to college but they are afraid to go and leave behind their families cause their family depends on them.

TW: A good example of this is Bryce Gowdy. He was only 17 and just got a football scholarship to Georgia Tech. His family was homeless, so he felt bad leaving them behind. He jumped in front of a train and committed suicide.

Unfortunately this burden should not be left on the black children. It’s ingrained in them not to leave their family behind but in order to have a better life for the family, the child must go out on their own otherwise they will stay and end up in the same hopeless cycle.
