Chile Megan Thee Stallion’s contract said her label got 60% of her earnings, plus all her earnings from her performances go to her label. On top of that her advance was only $10,000... chile that contract worse than a 360 deal.

The artistes pay for EVERYTHING! Record production, album art, marketing, album placements, radio slots, the parties/dinners the execs at the labels "take them out" to to celebrate milestones(platinum sales etc), the artiste (1)
-
the insanely expensive music videos (equipment, personnel, even the "vixens" - the cameras are so expensive they can only hire them)artiste, flights & accomodation to tour & promote the record, artiste, even that promotion is still on the artiste. (2)

I don’t disagree that the deal sounds like crap. But she signed it. I’ve been in the industry 25 years. And we all know most artists on the come up will sign most anything to advance careers. She just happened to blow and now doesn’t like her deal?Fair? Prob not. Is what it is

The real questions aren't being asked by the music mags: 1) What does Megan owe 1501 in terms of production to fulfill the deal? 2) Does her deal have any easy "outs" that trigger a termination of the deal?
