As you know, I think we should reclaim “representation” as a cogsci term, rather than getting rid of it. I think that’s one of the only enactivist quirks I worry about ;-)

The enactivist criticism of "representations" assumes that reps have to be propositional. But that's not true!

In general, I think you’re right. But I think Evan’s view is more sophisticated. If I understand his view, it’s that ‘representation’ reifies, and snuggles in richer content than what we find in cognitive systems. I worry that he might be right; but think we should try to reclaim

That makes sense. I like Hutto & Myin's distinction between covariance & (semantic) content but don't fully understand why the former isn't representational too.
