Looking at Arendt's syllabus makes me angry, because all of our syllabi will read to the future as corporate hackery. Which they of course are. We should have that intellectual freedom again.

Another is to see a gifted thinker engage with (part of) the history of philosophy all at one go and try to throw oneself into the conversation. [2]

Arendt may have done a bit of the former in her lectures but presumably it's the latter she's doing. Even as a first-year undergrad I would have loved to be in the audience. [3]
