Unfortunately, the tree was only cut down only to make way for construction and posed no risk. They were assessed by arborists as "exceptionally large Douglas-firs... good structural characteristics for long-term retention and high retention value"

Then cutting them down instead of designing a building around them or that incorporated them is absolutely shameful.
