I’m reading on #integratedinformationtheory right now and trying to get it clear (spec. Koch’s “Feeling of Life Itself”).
I’m failing to see how IIT resolves the hard problem? So we’ve moved from stuff = qualia (somehow) to causal goings on = qualia (somehow). Missing somethin?

I'm still working on it. Presenting it again at the Pacific APA in San Francisco in April.

Yeah, Koch identifies a bunch of “ways conscious experiences are” that’s are essential, but his list seems sort of ad hoc and convenient for IIT

This is one of many good critiques of IIT. https://academic.oup.com/nc/article/2018/1/niy007/5047367 … There are number of other good ones on why IIT definitely isn't it

These two are interesting, seem to have relevant processes going on https://twitter.com/EliSennesh/status/1204028965838622721?s=19 … but still more about subjective info-processing than whatever our first-hand experience of that is?
