2/n on the y-axis we have “content of consciousness (awareness)", and on the x-axis we have ”level of consciousness (wakefulness)”. So this diagram is often taken to contrast conscious level with conscious content, but it conflates conscious (level) with wakefulness

Whether there's a conflation depends on how you define "wakefulness," as quality admitting of degress or as state. In a lucid dream you "wake up" in the dream state (wakefulness as a quality admitting of degrees) but you're asleep (hence not awake; wakefulness as a state).
